The Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant pre-wedding festivities is about to begin on Friday, as some of the leading names from the world of business, entertainment, sports and technology gather in Jamnagar for the three-day event.
The city of Jamnagar in Gujarat holds a special place in Anant Ambani's heart and speaking as to why the location was chosen for the pre-wedding festivities, he said that he believed he was a resident of Jamnagar and also it was his father Mukesh Ambani's karmbhoomi.
"I have grown up here, and it's my good fortune that we could plan the celebration here. This is my dadi's janmbhoomi and my dada and papa's karmbhoomi. And this is my home. My father often says that this is my dada's sasural (in-laws' house), and hence we are celebrating here. I also believe I am from Jamnagar, yahin ka nagarik hun," Ambani told in an interview to India Today.
Ambani also said that another factor responsible for the pre-wedding festivities to happen in India was Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraging residents to conduct weddings in the country, instead of choosing a location overseas.
"It's a matter of pride and happiness when our PM said that one should get married in India," Ambani said.
All the invited guests for the three-day event in Jamnagar will get a nine-page event guide as well as a wardrobe planner, which would offer an overview of what to expect at the pre-wedding festivities.
