A video of a tutor proposing to his colleague during a live lecture has sparked shock and amusement in equal measure.
Navneet Tiwari, a math educator at Adda247, was captured proposing to “Sona Ma’am” aka Sona Sharma during a special livestream earlier this month. The livestream, titled “Biggest Surprise Reveal” shows Tiwari confessing his feelings for Sharma, who initially looks taken aback by his public declaration.
“I hope for your support in not just my professional life but personal as well. Support me forever,” Tiwari was heard saying during the livestream. “I don’t know what’s wrong or right. I don’t even want to say something like ‘I like you’ or ‘I love you’. I just want to ask you Sona ma’am will you marry me?” he asked his colleague.

“With all my heart, it’s a yes,” she responded.
A video of the proposal made it to X from YouTube. On the Elon Musk-owned social media platform, it has racked up over 6 lakh views and hundreds of comments – some outraged, some amused and some calling it a publicity stunt.
“I don’t know who this man is but this is really shameful, inhuman and harassment. He deliberately proposed that girl during the live stream to put pressure on her. And you can see how uncomfortable she was,” one commenter wrote.
“This could have happened off camera too,” said another.
