A 41-year-old primary care doctor based in London has claimed that his biological age is 24. Dr Mohammed Enayat attributed this longevity to a comprehensive routine that includes readily accessible supplements. Speaking to Business Insider, the founder of the Hum2n longevity clinic said that tests taken 18 months ago indicated his biological age was indeed 24.
While there is no universal consensus on how to measure biological age, Dr Enayat used GlycanAge and TruAge PACE tests. These tests determines one's biological age by measuring chronic inflammation in their system.
Tracking health and core supplements
Dr Enayat told Business Insider that he has diligently monitored his health for the past seven years, incorporating wearable technology such as an Oura ring (a smart ring used to track sleep and physical activity) and a Whoop strap (fitness device that offers continuous monitoring of physiological data, including heart rate, respiratory rate, resting heart rate), alongside regular blood, urine, and microbiome tests. He adapts his longevity routine, including his supplement intake, based on these results. But, he has consistently taken what he considers his "core" supplements. "While I believe these supplements have supported my biological age reversal, I credit them as one component in a much broader framework," Dr Enayat told the publication.
Vitamin B complex and folate supplement
The longevity doctor takes a vitamin B complex and folate supplement due to a "methylation gene defect" that causes high, pro-inflammatory homocysteine levels. "To bring that down, I have to be on a good B complex and a folate supplement," he stated.
Magnesium supplement
Regarding magnesium, Dr Enayat revealed his levels are naturally below recommended levels due to dietary intake. He opts for magnesium bisglycinate, a form known for better absorption, noting, "It works really well to bring my levels up." Magnesium is vital for bone health, blood sugar regulation, and muscle function, found in foods like legumes and leafy greens.
Omega-3 fatty acid supplement
Dr Enayat also takes daily omega-3 fatty acid supplements, as his natural levels are low. Omega-3s, present in oily fish and chia seeds, have been linked to improved heart health, reduced inflammation, and lower blood pressure. While the benefits of dietary fatty fish are well-established for cardiovascular health, research on the equivalence of supplement form is ongoing. A recent study, however, in Nature Aging involving 777 participants found that daily gram consumption of omega-3s was associated with lower "biological ages."
