Google's Gemini chatbot now available in India

The minimum requirements to run the app on your smartphone is at least 4GB of RAM, Android 12 or above and of course, a Google account

Google has broadened the reach of its AI chatbot Gemini to more than 150 countries, including India. The app will be available on Android. While there isn't a dedicated app on iOS, users will be able to access the bot from within the Google app using a toggle on iOS 16 and up.

The bot now covers English, Korean and Japanese languages.

The minimum requirements to run the app on your smartphone is at least 4GB of RAM, Android 12 or above and of course, a Google account. If you happen to be logged in through a Google Workspace account, the administrator has to enable the feature for you.

Google's Senior Director of Product Jack Krawczyk said the company "eased refusals on many images with people in them. Gemini will extract the text and reason upon it".

The global rollout will take a few days to complete, he said in his post on the X platform . The bot will first be available as an opt-in feature through the Google Assistant app, followed by the dedicated app in the play store. Here is a full list of countries where the app is available.
