The proliferation of electric vehicles (EV) in India might not be as high as Europe or the US but the numbers have been on the rise. One of the big problems EV owners face is finding chargers to power up their cars. Google is making it easier with the help of AI. In the coming months, Google Maps will show charger’s specific location based on helpful information from user reviews, so you can find exactly where to go. For example, when you’re headed to a charging station you may see a detailed description, like “Enter the underground parking lot and follow the signs toward the exit. Just before exiting, turn right.” This, according to Google, are AI-powered summaries and are designed to help users with exact locations of EV charging points.

Not only that but Google Maps will encourage users to share more details about charging points. Users will be asked to share how long was the waiting time, how their experience was or what type of plug they used to charge their vehicles.

In a blog post, Andrew Foster, senior Google executive said that the company is also thinking of ways to give users helpful charging information. Users across the world will see nearby chargers on the in-car map with information like real-time port availability and charging speed. “This update will roll out globally, starting with vehicles with Google built-in in the coming months,” said Foster in the blog post.

Last year Google announced that Maps will suggest users the best charging locations for vehicles with Google built-in. Now, this feature is expanding to multi-stop trips. “So if you're planning a multi-stop summer road trip to several national parks, Maps will suggest the best charging stops along the way, based on your battery’s charge level,” said Foster This feature will be available globally in the coming months for vehicles with Google built-in, revealed the company.
