We heard about LG’s plan to launch an LTE Android smartphone, called the Optimus LTE2 at the beginning of this month, but they didn’t really reveal too much information about it, other than the fact that it will have 2GB of RAM and the screen will be an IPS display. Now that the phone is about to launch, we have all the missing pieces of the puzzle and it seems like a real contender to take on the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X. The Optimus LTE2 will ship this week in South Korea for round $800 and should soon be available internationally, as well. Starting off with the design and build - unlike the plastic overalls of the Galaxy S III, the Optimus LTE2 is made up of glass and metal. It comes with a TrueHD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and will measure about 8.9mm in thickness, while weighing 145g. The phone will also support wireless charging through an optional charging pad and battery cover.
