47.8 million iPhones, 22.9 million iPads sold in the last quarter

Apple has released a press release stating that it has seen record results in its 13-week fiscal 2013 quarter that ended on December 29, 2012. The company has stated that it has sold 47.8 million iPhones, compared to 37 million before, and 22.9 million iPads, compared to 15.4 million before.Other major landmarks for Apple in the quarter include the sale of 4.1 million Macs, compared to 5.2 million in the year-ago quarter, and 12.7 million iPods, compared to 15.4 million in the year-ago quarter.“We’re thrilled with record revenue of over $54 billion and sales of over 75 million iOS devices in a single quarter,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We’re very confident in our product pipeline as we continue to focus on innovation and making the best products in the world.”
