The government’s decision to hike the excise duty on phones priced above Rs 2,000 is going to fetch it a lot of money in the coming financial year. According to Business Standard, the government could earn somewhere between Rs 1,800 crore and Rs 2,700 crore in 2013-14 from mobile tax, depending upon the average cost of phones in the country.Click here for full story
