Any major software update brings along with it a wave of excitement, but PC users might be in for a not-so-exciting update. IDC has provided their clients with reports and ZDNet has dissected some of the predictions. IDC says that many of Windows users will not feel the urge to upgrade to Windows 8 when it arrives. Windows 8 server software clients are likely to be very skeptical about the update as well. Many manufacturers should receive Windows 8 sometime next year around August, in time for their new model manufacturing. The reason for concern is the use of the Metro interface, which seems suitable only for tablets. Microsoft’s emphasis on the UI seems pretty high and the use of such an interface on a PC might seem out of place.
