LG Electronics Yesterday announced its new optical storage technology with Millenniata. The new drive can keep the information stored for more than 100 years without suffering adulteration. LG optical devices are designed to work with M-DISC. This new drive technology uses M-DISC’s DVD-R discs with surface recording, considered to be "as hard as rock". It is burned by very powerful laser, leaving information unchanged, regardless the action of time or external agents.
