Mehta, who was Editorial Chairman of ‘Outlook‘ magazine which he had founded, had been ailing for several months and was hospitalised at AIIMS. He was suffering from severe lung infection and was on life support. He died of multiple organ failure, AIIMS spokesperson Amit Gupta said.
Vinod Mehta today announced that he has stepped down as Editor-in-Chief of 'Outlook' weekly, a position he held for 17 years. 69-year-old Mehta said in a statement that he would be closely involved with Outook as its Editorial Chairman along with all other group publications.
