Vinod Mehta relinquishes charge as Outlook Editor-in-Chief

Vinod Mehta today announced that he has stepped down as Editor-in-Chief of 'Outlook' weekly, a position he held for 17 years. 69-year-old Mehta said in a statement that he would be closely involved with Outook as its Editorial Chairman along with all other group publications.

Vinod Mehta today announced that he has stepped down as Editor-in-Chief of 'Outlook' weekly, a position he held for 17 years.

The 69-year-old Mehta said in a statement that he would be closely involved with Outook as its Editorial Chairman along with all other group publications. "After 17 years as Editor-in-Chief of Outlook, I have decided to relinquish all operational control of the magazine, which in the last year has anyway been run by the current Editor Krishna Prasad. "In this process of transition, I have appointed Krishna Prasad as Editor-in-Chief," Mehta said.

Mehta, whose autobiography 'Lucknow Boy' was in the bestsellers chart recently, was the founder-editor of the weekly launched in 1995. One of the senior-most editors of the country, Mehta has been editor of several publications, including Pioneer, The Sunday Observer, The Independent and The Indian Post.
