Torrent Gas has licences to operate city gas networks retailing CNG to automobiles and piped natural gas, called PNG, to household kitchens in 34 districts across the country, including in Chennai and Jaipur.
The company earlier in the day launched 25 CNG stations in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts which was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister M K Stalin through the virtual mode.
Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) Director Rajesh Kumar Mediratta said that the company is in talks with multiple players to be roped in as strategic partners.
The exchange is considered to be an alternative to the gas spot markets in India that provides ease of trading, payment security, and greater access to the market for its users.
Companies which have signed the MoUs include Crown Group Of Companies, representing a Russian defence organisation, Torrent Gas, First Solar, Ola Electric and Mahindra CIE among others
