Mehrishi is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1978 batch belonging to the Rajasthan cadre and has a wide experience of over 42 years. In 2022, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Mehrishi, a retired 1978-batch IAS officer, had served as the Union home secretary between 2015 and 2017, followed by a tenure as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India which lasted till August 2020.
Mehrishi, a retired Indian administrative service officer, was the 13th Comptroller and Auditor General Of India.
