The Monsoon Session of Parliament is likely to begin in the third week of July and end by mid August, with the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs set to meet on June 29 to decide on the schedule
The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh will meet on February 4 to finalise the dates for the Budget session during which the government is keen to pass the GST Bill.

Sources said the decision to reconvene Monsoon session, after the washout of last three weeks due to disruptions by Congress-led opposition, will depend on whether there is some significant headway with other parties on the contentious GST bill.

According to sources, the party will evolve its strategy on the land acquisition bill only after assessing the response of various parties on the passage of two bills on mines and coal that were sent to the Select Committees of Rajya Sabha. The bills on mines and coal will come up tomorrow in the Upper House.
The first half of the session is otherwise slated to end on March 20. The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, which met here on Tuesday, decided to hold two additional sittings on Monday and Tuesday "if required" to pass the two bills.
