After addressing a gathering at Navsari in south Gujarat, the PM reached Kakrapar village of adjoining Surat district where the nuclear power plant is situated.
Under the agreement, Madhya Pradesh will get nuclear power at Rs 2.289 per unit from the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS) near Surat in Gujarat.
There are two pressurised heavy water reactors at Kakrapar that have been in service for over 20 years and are operated by the state-owned Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd.
