The Assam Chief Minister has also previously questioned Gogoi's visits to Pakistan nearly a decade ago.
"By treating cricket as separate from the blood that has been shed on our soil, they have shown that money matters more than the suffering of our people," the Assam Congress president said.
The SIT, established on February 17, was tasked with investigating “the anti-India activities of one Pakistani national, Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, and his associates,” following approval from the state Cabinet.
Apparently referring to Gogoi's alleged links with the foreign nation, he said Assam cannot be led by people who make frequent visits to Pakistan.

The Jorhat MP also questioned the government over a contentious provision - that donations can only be made by a Muslim who has been practicing his/her faith for at least five years. It is a sad situation, the Congress leader said, when the government takes it on itself to issue 'religious certificates'.
