One of the biggest hospital networks in India, CARE Hospitals Group, with headquarters in Hyderabad, today announced the acquisition of CHL Hospitals in Indore to expand into the Madhya Pradesh region.
In January 2016, Abraaj had purchased 72 per cent in Care Hospitals from Advent Capital for Rs 2,000 crore. In 2019, the reins were handed over to TPG backed Evercare Group, which revamped the leadership and initiated a clean-up act.
The companies did not offer any valuation or deal size but sources confirmed the deal size at Rs 1,300 crore, and an enterprise valuation of the Hyderabad-based hospital chain at a tad over Rs 1,800 crore.
The talks are also being held with Malaysia's IHH Healthcare Bhd , India's Manipal Hospitals and Fortis Healthcare , the sources added, declining to be identified because the information has not been made public.
