Ashishkumar Chauhan is set to take over as CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in November, once his term as chief of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) ends. A mechanical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Chauhan first joined the NSE in 1993, when the bourse was being set up as a counterweight to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The rupee recovered marginally today but was still trading 24 paise down at 53.65 a dollar on fresh demand for the American currency from banks and importers amid weak equity market.
