The joint venture company named Lumax FAE Technologies will initially produce oxygen sensors for the two-wheelers and the production will start from early 2019.
Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 438.40 crore as against Rs 824.69 crore in the year-ago quarter, the company said in a BSE filing.
The plan also envisages a broader corporate restructuring involving the consolidation of the domestic business and the ongoing asset monetisation to support the proposed plan, it added.

Net sales of the company also declined to Rs 539.83 crore for the June quarter as against Rs 854.22 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, Amtek Auto said in a regulatory filing.
"The partnership with Fontana Gruppo would enable the fasteners business of Bagla Group to acquire necessary technological expertise, size and scale, to become the largest fasteners manufacturer in India," the company's chairman Rishi Kumar Bagla said.
The plant, which has come up on an area of 38,000 sqm, would manufacture products for the diesel systems division.
Total standalone income of the firm grew 32 percent to Rs 1,223.98 crore in January March quarter of last fiscal from Rs 930.52 crore in the same quarter of 2013-14, it added. For the 2014-15 fiscal, the USD 2.5 billion Kalyani Group firm's standalone net profit jumped 80 percent to Rs 718.98 crore from Rs 399.98 crore in 2013-14.
