A patch up is reportedly in the offing between the Thackeray cousins ahead of the 2014 elections. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray hasn't dismissed the idea. In an interview to party mouthpiece Saamna, Uddhav has for the first time hinted at the possibility of a reconciliation with his cousin Raj Thackeray. "This is a question that the two of us (Raj and I) have to sit together and discuss. The two us have to decide the answer together," said Uddhav.

In the interview, Uddhav did not dismiss the possibility of coming together to avoid the splitting of the Marathi vote. These speculations come in the wake of preparations for the 2014 elections.

Raj Thackeray had split from the party in 2006 to form the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The split came after Uddhav was asked to lead the party following the late Bal Thackeray's retirement from active politics.
