Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a joint press briefing with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer in Aylesbury, England, candidly interrupted the translator who was translating a journalist's question to Hindi.

In a light-hearted moment, PM Modi interrupted the translator and said, "Don't bother, we can use English words in between. Don't worry about it."

 

British PM Keir Starmer smiled and said, "I think we understand each other well."

The press conference was held after the much awaited India-UK Free Trade Agreement was signed on Thursday.

At the presser, PM Modi also used a cricket metaphor. He said that for both India as well as UK, cricket is not just a game but a passion. "And also, a great metaphor for our partnership," he added.

"There may be a swing and a miss at times, but we always play with a straight bat! We are committed to building a high scoring solid partnership," PM Modi said after the two countries signed the landmark deal.
