The Ministry of External Affairs issued a travel advisory today for Indian nationals regarding Iran, citing the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The MEA has also asked the nationals who are staying in Iran to remain in touch with the Indian embassy in Tehran.
"We are closely monitoring the recent escalation in security situation in the region. Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran. Those currently residing in Iran are requested to remain vigilant and stay in contact with the Indian Embassy in Tehran," the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Iran has extended the closure of its airspace a day after it attacked Israel.
Indian embassy in Tel Aviv issues advisory
Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv on Tuesday issued a safety advisory for Indian nationals residing in Israel, urging them to remain vigilant amid escalating tensions from the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
“In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to safety protocols as advised by the local authorities,” the embassy said in a statement. The Embassy has recommended avoiding non-essential travel within the country and remaining close to designated safety shelters.
