Ahead of the Bihar election result on Friday, posters featuring Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar with the caption "Tiger abhi zinda hai" appeared outside the JD(U) office.
According to reports, former Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Ranjit Sinha put out a poster that read, "Protector of Dalits, Mahadalits, backward classes, upper castes, and minorities — Tiger abhi zinda hai (the tiger is still alive)."
The Mahagathbandhan led by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav have earlier voiced concerns about Nitish Kumar's health and its potential impact on governance.
Once the RJD leader had shared a video on X, Yadav highlighted what he called the CM’s “bizarre antics” and asked his followers, “How does it feel to see the Chief Minister of a state in such a pathetic condition? Does he appear mentally healthy to you?”
The video was captured during the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh 2025. It showed the CM virtually attending a skill convocation ceremony for ITI toppers from across the country.
During campaigning, BJP's Bihar co-ordinator Dharmendra Pradhan refuted opposition's claim that all is not well in NDA camp citing Nitish Kumar's absence from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rallies.
"Before the elections, PM Modi attended 7-8 government programs at the invitation of CM Nitish Kumar and the Bihar government... On October 24, the election campaign began in Jannayak Karpoori Thakur's village in Samastipur, where all NDA leaders were present, including PM Modi, CM Nitish Kumar, Upendra Kushwaha, and Chirag Paswan," Pradhan said.
Nitish Kumar has been the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state. He took the oath of office for a record nine times.
Most exit polls have predicted a sweeping return for chief minister Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the opposition Mahagathbandhan projected to fall short of the majority mark in the Bihar elections. According to the News18 Mega Exit Poll, the BJP will win 55-65 seats in both phases of the Bihar election, while the JD(U) will win 60-70 seats. In the Mahagathbandhan camp, the RJD is expected to win 50-60 seats and the Congress will go home with only 15-20 seats.
