The SIT was formed to investigate the Tirupati Laddu prasadam case and the suspension is a precautionary measure to ensure the investigation's integrity,” Andhra top cop Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said according to ANI.

On Monday, the SIT inspected the flour mill in Tirumala where the ghee is stored and tested in the lab before being used in the preparation of laddus.
The SIT had said that a detailed investigation would be conducted over the alleged use of animal fat to make the famous Tirupati laddus (consecrated sweet) during the previous YSRCP regime.
SIT chief Sarvashresth Tripathi said the team will investigate Tamil Nadu-based AR Dairy, which allegedly supplied the adulterated ghee while the case registered against it in Tirupati East police station has already been transferred to the SIT.
SIT officials have reportedly formed three teams to probe the matter. They will investigate everybody responsible for the adulterated ghee.
