The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will embark on a state visit to India on February 17-18, during which he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday.
According to the MEA, the visit is expected to strengthen the "growing multifaceted partnership" between India and Qatar. The Amir will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, and a business contingent.
“At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will pay a state visit to India on 17-18 February 2025,” the MEA said in a statement. This marks his second state visit to India, following his earlier trip in March 2015.
During his visit, Sheikh Tamim is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and emerging technologies.
The government highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties between India and Qatar, emphasizing a relationship built on "friendship, trust, and mutual respect."
