The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 30-hour water supply shutdown in several parts of Mumbai from 2 am on February 12 to 8 am on February 13 due to major maintenance work. Water supply will be completely suspended in parts of Govandi, Chembur, Mankhurd and Shivaji Nagar, falling under the M East and M West wards.
The shutdown is required for the installation of a 1,200 mm sluice valve at the Turbhe Low Level Reservoir and for connecting an inlet pipeline to the AMT-II tunnel shaft to improve water distribution. The BMC has urged residents to store adequate water in advance, use it carefully during the cut, and boil and filter drinking water for three days after supply resumes as a precaution.

Red Bird training aircraft makes forced landing in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district
A Red Bird Flying Training Academy aircraft made a forced landing in a field in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Tuesday, police and aviation authorities said.
According to Belagavi Police, a Red Bird private jet carrying two passengers came down in Mangalore village of Babaleshwar taluk. Visuals from the spot showed the aircraft resting in an open field. No injuries were reported, officials said, adding that further details were awaited.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) later clarified that the aircraft involved was a Cessna 172, registration VT-EUC (MSN-17265717), operated by Redbird Flying Training Academy Limited. The aircraft was on a training sortie when it made a forced landing near Bagalkot airport, around 100 km east of Belagavi.

Speaking after the meeting, Amirul Feisal described the interaction as “wonderful” and praised Prime Minister Modi’s long-term vision for India.
“The Prime Minister is very visionary about what he wants India to be,” Amirul Feisal said. “We spoke about how he would like to build India — about building infrastructure, looking at innovation like technology — and how we can collaborate further, not just in Khazanah but also with our portfolio companies.”
Highlighting India’s economic transformation over the past decade, he said Khazanah viewed India as a high-conviction investment destination. “Since 2014, there has been a lot of economic transformation. Delhi AQI Live Updates: Slight relief for Delhi as AQI improves, but many areas still in ‘poor’ zone
Air quality in the national capital showed a marginal improvement this morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 196, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
This marks an improvement from Saturday, when the AQI stood at 227 at around 4 pm, falling in the ‘poor’ category.
However, several areas in Delhi continued to report poor air quality. Mundka recorded the highest AQI at 266, followed by Pusa at 257, Narela and Rohini at 247 each, Ashok Vihar at 243, Jahangirpuri at 242, Wazirpur at 239, Nehru Nagar at 237, Shadipur at 236, Bawana and Vivek Vihar at 231 each, Sirifort at 222 and Chandni Chowk at 220, all in the ‘poor’ category.

Surajkund Mela tradedy news updates: Slain inspector’s family to get Rs 1 crore, says DGP
Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal on Saturday night expressed deep grief over the death of Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who lost his life while rescuing people after a giant swing collapsed at the Surajkund Mela in Faridabad, leaving at least 19 persons injured.
Praising Inspector Prasad’s courage and sense of duty, Singhal said the officer displayed exceptional bravery, dedication and humanity by placing the safety of others above his own life in extremely risky circumstances. “His prompt action and selfless courage saved several lives and reflected the highest traditions of police service,” the DGP said.
The incident occurred around 6 pm on Saturday when a swing malfunctioned mid-air and crashed at the Surajkund fairgrounds. Inspector Prasad, who was on duty at the venue, immediately launched rescue operations. He, however, suffered serious injuries during the effort and later succumbed while undergoing treatment.
