Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday began a visit to Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman, nations with deep civilisational ties and strong bilateral relations with India.
“First, I will be visiting Jordan, on the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. This historic visit will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between our countries,” PM Modi said in a statement at the time of departure. During the visit, he will hold detailed discussions with King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, and meet Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah.
In Ethiopia, PM Modi will address a joint session of Parliament, highlighting India’s journey as the “Mother of Democracy” and the potential of India-Ethiopia cooperation in strengthening the Global South. He will also meet Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Indian diaspora.
On the final leg of his journey, PM Modi will visit Oman, commemorating 70 years of diplomatic ties. In Muscat, he will hold talks with the Sultan of Oman on enhancing the strategic partnership and boosting commercial and economic relations. He will also address the Indian community in Oman, acknowledging their contribution to the country’s development and bilateral ties.
