Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday slammed former Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his claims that Yadav’s name had been removed from the voter list and that his EPIC (Elector’s Photo Identity Card) number had been changed.
Kishor said Tejashwi Yadav has no issues to talk about. However, he said there is no doubt that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is removing people's names but those on the voter’s list are enough to remove the BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JDU from power.
"Tejashwi Yadav has no issues to talk about, there is no doubt that the Election Commission is removing people's names... but those whose names remain on the voter list are enough to remove BJP and Nitish Kumar, how many names will they cut?,” Kishor told news agency ANI.

He further said that the people of Bihar have decided they want employment and not empty speeches.
“No one is going to fall for false promises, those whose names are not on the list will fight the Election Commission, the Election Commission is not the master, the people are the masters. Whoever the people vote for will win,” Kishor said.
Meanwhile, the ECI) on Sunday asked Tejashwi Yadav to “hand over for investigation” a voter ID card that he claimed to be in possession of despite having been “not issued officially”.
The leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly had on Saturday demonstrated an online search, with the EPIC number, to claim that his name was missing in the draft electoral rolls published as part of special intensive revision (SIR) and, upon rebuttal from the authorities concerned, alleged that his voter ID card number was “changed”.
In a letter addressed to the former deputy CM, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Patna Sadar-cum-Electoral Registration Officer for Digha assembly constituency said, “Our preliminary investigation suggests that the EPIC number you mentioned at the press conference on August 2 was not issued officially. You are therefore requested to hand over the EPIC card in original for detailed investigation”.
ECI dismissed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s allegation that his name was missing from the draft electoral roll or that his EPIC number had been altered.
Prashant Kishor has raised concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, saying that many poor people may lose their voting rights because EC is not following a clear and fair process.
Speaking to ANI, Prashant Kishor said, "SIR is a very important issue, as many people, especially from weaker sections of society in Bihar, are worried about what the Election Commission is doing. Their names could be removed from the voter list, and the process is not being done in a clear or fair way."
Kishor said the Election Commission is not being transparent in the process of removing names from the voter list in Bihar and is not clearly informing people whose names are being deleted.
"The Election Commission is not giving a clear explanation of names being deleted. The process is not so transparent...We hope we will get justice on this issue," Kishor further said.
