Shailesh Jejurikar was promoted to the position of global chief executive of FMCG major Procter & Gamble on July 29, succeeding Jon Moeller in a leadership rejig. Jejurikar was the chief operating officer till now and will take charge of his new role from January 2026.
The 58-year-old IIM Lucknow graduate, who joins the club of top Indian origin global CEOs such as Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, completed his schooling from Hyderabad Public School.
Jejurikar is not alone from the Hyderabad school. The more-than-100-year-old institution has produced students who went on to head some of the biggest companies in the world.
Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, was Jejurikar’s classmate in the school and both are reportedly still friends.

So, where exactly is this school and when was it established?
The school is located in the Begumpet area of Hyderabad and was established in 1923 after a proposal was given to seventh Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan in 1919 by a senior British official H Weikfield, who was director of the revenue department. Weikfield asked the nizam to build a residential school inspired from London’s Eton College to “give an enriching experience” to the sons of local jagirdars.
1n 1923, the school began its journey with 5 students and six teachers, expanding gradually over the years with donations from various quarters.
The school is now a co-educational and day/residential school and one of the oldest in the country.

Ajay Banga, currently the World Bank president, held the roles of executive chairman, CEO and president at Mastercard. Jejurikar was made the global CEO of P&G and Nadella heads tech giant Microsoft. Shantanu Narayen, an alumnus of the school, is currently services as the CEO of Adobe.
