A teenager allegedly killed a stranger after the latter refused to give him money for alcohol, police said, as reported by news agency PTI. The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh.
The police said that the 17-year-old boy who committed the crime was allegedly in an intoxicated state and had approached the victim near a liquor shop. He then asked 69-year-old Tataji for money to buy alcohol.
"The man was killed by a minor after being denied Rs 10 to buy alcohol," a police official told PTI.
Tataji refused to give the minor any money for liquor since they did not even know each other. This allegedly led to an argument.
Police said Tataji allegedly hit the boy, after which the minor fetched a knife and stabbed him about 20 metres away from the liquor shop.
A case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
