The NCP is the third among the Mahayuti constituents to release its list of candidates. The BJP released its first list of 99 candidates on October 20 followed by the Shiv Sena (Shinde)’s list of 45 candidates. With the NCP releasing its list of 38 candidates, the ruling Mahayuti has now declared candidates for 182 of the 288 Assembly seats. As per the tentative seat-sharing arrangement between the ruling alliance partners, the NCP could contest around 50-55 seats in the 288-member Assembly.
Elections in Maharashtra are scheduled to be held in a single phase on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23.
