The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan held a hotline conversation yesterday to address the recent unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control. Defence sources stated that India issued a firm warning to Pakistan, urging it to cease such hostile activities.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has cancelled six round-trip flights connecting Islamabad with Gilgit and Skardu, according to a report by ARY News. The affected flights include PK-601, PK-603, and PK-605 from Islamabad to Gilgit, along with PK-451 from Islamabad to Skardu. Additionally, return flights PK-602 and PK-604 from Gilgit to Islamabad have also been cancelled.

The Punjab government has announced plans to deploy anti-drone systems along the Pakistan border adjacent to the state. Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao stated, "AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal has clearly instructed that no one should comment on the Kashmir issue. In the all-party meeting, Prime Minister Modi has given a free hand to Amit Shah. Whatever actions the government takes are its responsibility—we will not issue any statements on the matter, as per the high command’s directive."

In the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack, India’s sweeping diplomatic countermeasures against Pakistan have triggered a significant cross-border movement of nationals from both countries.

Between April 24 and 29, a total of 786 Pakistani nationals reportedly left India through the Attari-Wagah Integrated Check Post, as per official records.

Simultaneously, 1,376 Indian visitors to Pakistan returned via the same route.

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday extended unequivocal support to PM Modi in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, calling for national unity and urging Pakistan to refrain from further escalations.

Backing the Centre’s firm stance following the April 22 massacre, Abdullah said, “We have extended full support to the Prime Minister. There should be no further questioning. The Prime Minister is free to take whatever steps he deems necessary.”

“They keep talking about nuclear power. We are also a nuclear nation — and have been one even before them,” he asserted.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati today called for political unity in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Condemning the April 22 massacre, Mayawati urged all political parties to stand behind the government’s response and avoid politicising a national tragedy.

"In such moments of grave national crisis, unity is the need of the hour. Political point-scoring must take a back seat when the security and integrity of the country are at stake," the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said in a statement.

In the meantime, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, late Tuesday night, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio is actively engaging with both sides to de-escalate the situation.

“The Secretary is reaching out to both parties, urging them not to escalate the situation. He expects to speak with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India as early as today or tomorrow,” Bruce said.

Secretary Rubio is also encouraging other world leaders and foreign ministers to intervene diplomatically, she added.

“Every day, concrete steps are being taken. The Secretary will speak directly with his counterparts in both countries, and we expect this outreach, along with President Trump’s leadership, to have a stabilising effect,” she stated.

Furthermore, according to an official statement by the Indian army, small-arms fire was not only directed at Indian forward positions in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu region but also reported from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla and Kupwara districts of north Kashmir.

Additionally, Pakistani troops reportedly targeted positions across the International Border in the Pargwal Sector.

For the fifth day in a row, in ceasefire violation, Pakistani Army posts opened unprovoked small-arms fire during the night of April 29-30, targeting Indian forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army, in an official statement, confirmed the ceasefire violation and said its troops responded "swiftly and proportionately" to the provocation.

“Our forces remain vigilant and are fully prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty in light of the current security situation,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan PM Imran Khan, on Tuesday, expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the Pahalgam terror attack, but simultaneously sought to deflect blame from Islamabad, accusing the Indian government of using the tragedy to further its agenda.

In a post on X, Khan, currently serving a 14-year prison sentence in a corruption case, warned India against any “misadventure,” urging New Delhi to act with restraint in a region he described as a “nuclear flashpoint.” Know what more he remarked.
