Agencies are investigating Pakistan's role in the dastardly attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley that killed 26 men, mostly tourists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the key meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security in New Delhi on Wednesday. This was the second CCS meeting since the Baisaran terror attacks that killed 26 men, mostly tourists in picturesque Pahalgam.

Sources told News18 that security agencies were briefed shortly after the meeting at PM Modi’s 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence. One of the key messages that was conveyed to the agencies was “catch the Pahalgam terrorists alive.”

The reason for this order, the sources say was that it would bring the truth of the Baisaran carnage. Initial intel reports say that there are enough evidences that show Pakistan’s clear role in the attack. Another point that was communicated to the agencies was to neutralise the local co-conspirators and all those who helped the terrorists.

While there have been many reports saying that around four terrorists were involved in the attack, the sources told News18 that the exact number of the attackers can’t be ascertained till now. The sources say that this is because most of the eyewitnesses are deeply traumatised and not in a condition to give the testimony.

One of the sketches released by the local police matches with a foreign terrorist who goes by the name Hashim. Another critical aspect that has emerged from the probe so far, as per the sources, is that pattern in which the firing took place. The precise pattern of firing shows that the terrorists were trained in Pakistan, the source say. Several meetings are being among various agencies to catch the terrorists.
