Hailing India's growth story, Canadian PM Mark Carney said India's per capita income has increased under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the meeting between Canadian PM Mark Carney and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, it was decided that India and Canada will work on small, modular and advanced nuclear reactors.

14 students arrested in JNU protest case released from Tihar jail

14 protesters arrested in connection with a demonstration at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here were released from Tihar jail after the Patiala House court granted them bail. Those arrested include JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) president Aditi Mishra, vice president Gopika Babu, former president Nitish Kumar, and joint secretary Danish Ali, among others. JNU students celebrated the court's decision and gave a warm welcome to those arrested in the case.

Before arriving in New Delhi, Canadian PM Mark Carney was in Mumbai where he met several business engagements, meeting Indian and Canadian CEOs, industry and financial experts, innovators, educators as well as Canadian Pension Funds based in India. Canada and India are set to forge new partnerships in energy, talent and innovation, and AI. Canada and India are also likely to sign a free trade agreement. A multi-billion-dollar agreement for procurement of uranium by India from Canada is likely to be one of the major takeaways from the visit.
