Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leader Lokesh Nara received Bill Gates at the Gannavaram airport in Andhra Pradesh's Amaravati on Monday. The Bill Gates Foundation will be working with the Andhra Pradesh government to strengthen partnership  in health, agriculture, education, and technology-driven governance.

The Election Commission of India suspended seven West Bengal officials for serious misconduct, dereliction of duty and "misuse of statutory powers in connection with SIR." It has directed the Chief Secretary to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the officers.
