A history-sheeter facing three cases reportedly shot dead his wife by pumping eight bullets into her outside their residence in Haryana. The accused Sanjay immediately fled the crime scene after killing his wife Anjali.
Domestic dispute escalated leading to Anjali's killing in a village of Haryana's Jhajjar district, TOI said based on preliminary probe report. A forensic team visited the crime scene in Biradhana village to collect evidence.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to put together the chain of events and track the suspect's movements leading up to and following the incident.
According to assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Anil Kumar, out of the three cases registered against Sanjay, one pertains to murder. With the killing of his wife, this will be the second murder case against Sanjay.
"Following Monday's incident, a fresh murder case has been registered against him. Multiple teams, including CIA and special staff units, have been deployed to conduct raids at possible hideouts, but the accused remains untraceable," TOI said quoting ACP Kumar.
He added that the case is being probed from all angles and nothing is being ruled out at this stage. "Police are making efforts to trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest," ACP Kumar said.
