Following Rahul Gandhi’s “dance and drama” jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in poll-bound Bihar, the state unit of BJP has filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
The BJP filed a complaint against Gandhi for "making derogatory, personal, and insulting remarks" against the Prime Minister during a rally in "violation of the Model Code of Conduct and the Representation of the People Act, 1951".
According to ANI, the BJP has requested the commission to issue a show-cause notice to him and direct him to tender an unconditional public apology, and to bar him from campaigning for a specified period to preserve the sanctity of democratic and electoral decorum.

During a rally in Bihar's Muzzafarpur, Gandhi said, "He (PM Modi) just wants your vote. If you tell Narendra Modi to dance. He will dance... they are engaged in stealing your votes. Because they want to end this election disease. I am telling you, they stole elections in Maharashtra, they stole elections in Haryana, and they will try their best in Bihar..."
Gandhi also said devotees were praying in a polluted Yamuna in Delhi during Chhath Puja, while the Prime Minister took a dip in a "specially made" pond.
"Narendra Modi went to bathe in his swimming pool. He has nothing to do with the Yamuna. He has nothing to do with Chhath Puja. He just wants your vote," Gandhi said.
Meanwhile, PM Modi on Thursday addressed his first election rally in Bihar after the Chhath festival, accusing the “shameless” Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Congress alliance of insulting the four-day celebration for the sake of vote. “When your son (Modi) wants to make Chhath popular across the world, the Congress and RJD are insulting Chhathi Maiyya. Tell me–can anyone insult Chhathi Maiyya only for votes? Will Bihar and India tolerate it? Will mothers who fast on Chhath tolerate it?” PM Modi said.
