News Updates: Fire breaks out in parked train carrying rubbish, suburban services briefly disrupted in Mumbai

Suburban services of the Central Railway's main line in Mumbai were disrupted for about half an hour on Thursday evening after a `muck special' train parked between Kurla and Vidyavihar stations caught fire, officials said.

The fire, confined to only one coach, was doused quickly.

The BEST bus driver involved in an accident in which four people were killed last month has sought bail claiming the road was crowded and encroached upon by hawkers, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

The driver, in his plea filed before the sessions court, asserted he did not cause the accident intentionally and has not committed any crime in the past.

The court complexes in Ropar and Ferozepur were evacuated after they received a bomb threat emails on Thursday, officials told news agency PTI. Following this, security arrangements in and around several court complexes are beefed up, they said.
