Bengaluru Shocker: Woman slapped by auto driver for cancelling Ola ride

A woman employed at a private firm in Bengaluru was harrowed by an Ola auto driver after she cancelled her ride. The woman and her friend had booked two rides factoring in possible cancellations, and had to cancel the auto that arrived later.

However, this irked the driver of the autorickshaw that was cancelled, who could be seen verbally abusing and threatening the women before slapping one of them while they were already seated in the other auto.

The entre incident was videographed by the victim on her cellphone; it has now gone viral on social media, with several users demanding the auto driver be arrested and his licence cancelled.

One handle on X shared the video and wrote on X, “The safety of women is of utmost importance. If, in broad daylight, this individual was able to assault two women merely for canceling a ride due to an issue, one can only imagine the potential dangers he could pose in more secluded settings. Bangalore City Police, it is imperative that strict and decisive action be taken against this autorickshaw driver. His actions not only endanger individuals but also tarnish the city’s reputation. Ola Support, it is crucial to address whether thorough background checks and character verifications are conducted before hiring drivers. It is essential that stringent measures are implemented to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all passengers.”
