On Tuesday, the Election Commission released the final voter list for the 2026 special revision (SR), covering all 126 Assembly constituencies in Assam, with a total of 2,49,58,139 voters.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Assam stated that this final list shows a reduction of 2,43,485 voters from the draft list, which initially recorded 2,52,01,624 voters.
The updated electoral roll includes nearly 1.25 crore men, 1.24 crore women, and 343 third gender voters.
Following claims and objections, the election authorities published the final list with a total of 2.49 crore voters, representing a 0.97 per cent decline from the draft.
The Assam CEO's office reported that over 2,43,000 names were removed from the draft list, which had been published on December 27 last year with 2.52 crore voters. The Assam assembly elections are scheduled in a few months.
