Days after the Pahalgam attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 people, the website of the Army College of Nursing was hacked, allegedly by a Pakistan-based hacker group known as Team Insane PK.
The page displayed two paragraphs in both Urdu and English. The message read, “You are hacked by Team Insane PK,” followed by the following statements:
"Our religion and customs are miles apart, and that makes us stronger. The two-nation theory was not just an idea; it is the truth. We are Muslims, you are Hindus. Allah is with us. Your religion won't save you; instead, it will be the cause of your demise. We are just too superior and powerful."
This hack occurred just two days after India announced several measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and declaring the defence advisors at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi as "persona non grata." On Thursday, India escalated its actions by revoking most visas for Pakistanis, except for long-term visas issued to Hindu nationals from Pakistan. Additionally, most Pakistanis were given 72 hours to leave the country.
The message displayed on the hacked website referenced the two-nation theory, similar to statements made by Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir in a recent speech, which is believed to have acted as a catalyst for the Pahalgam terror attack. In his speech, he stated that India and Pakistan are fundamentally different nations. "Our forefathers believed we are distinct from Hindus in every possible aspect of life. Our religions, customs, traditions, thoughts, and ambitions are all different. That was the foundation of the two-nation theory."
Intelligence officers have suggested that Munir’s speech may have inspired the Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed responsibility for the attack, to carry out the assault.
