Amitabh Bachchan has been hospitalised at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

Super star Amitabh Bachchan has undergone an angioplasty and was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Friday morning, March 15. Reports say that the megastar of the Hindi film industry was brought in to the hospital under very tight security conditions.

According to received details, the surgery was on peripheral, not coronary heart and the angioplasty was not done on heart but on some clot in his leg.

In the afternoon, the Bollywood actor took to his social media on X and tweeted a phrase that expressed his gratitude. He wrote on X, “T 4950 – in gratitude ever.”

The 81-year-old’s angioplasty was done at the Kokilaben Hospital and more details about the star’s health are awaited.

Earlier he also posted a small video of him with his son Abhishek Bachchan on his social media platform about his recent appearance at an ISPL match captioning it as, “T 4950 – Aankh kholke dekh lo, kaan lagake sun lo, Majhi Mumbai ki hogi Jai Jaikaar, yeh baat ab maanlo.”

The octogenarian has now become an icon when it comes to a disciplined life and disease management because of the numerous health issues he has undergone over the years.

Way back in 2000, he had been diagnosed with Hepatitis B, the doctors had then stated that with his infected liver condition, he was surviving on just 25 per cent of his liver. The megastar himself made a revelation that he was suffering from Hepatitis B which came to him accidentally.

In 1982, when he suffered from an accident on the sets of Coolie, he had been declared ‘clinically dead’.  On August 2 that year, doctors miraculously revived him. During that time he had received blood from 200 donors one of whom had Hepatitis B which infected him too.

Later, he had been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, then he also suffered from gastro issues that later became diverticulitis of the small intestine and he had to undergo surgery. The veteran actor had once battled tuberculosis of the spine.
