Right then, the Lucknow Super Giants pulled off a remarkable turnaround to defeat the high-flying Gujarat Titans, and this win will do wonders for their confidence. That’s all from us here in Lucknow, but we are not done yet on this double-header Saturday. Over in Hyderabad, the Punjab Kings have opted to bat first against the Sunrisers and have raced to 53 runs in just 3 overs. Switch tabs and join us there for all the action. Cheers!
Aiden Markram is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant knock of 58 runs from 31 balls. Shares that it was a slow start to the season, but after a couple of good knocks, he is now feeling much better. Mentions that with a packed schedule and changing conditions, there is a lot to take in, but he feels it's all about sticking to your game. Says that as a player, you always end up going back to your strengths. Emphasizes the importance of staying true to your game, and if the team benefits from it, that’s the most important thing. States that the deck did change a bit, and the lights coming on made a difference in easing the pitch.
Rishabh Pant, the victorious skipper of the Lucknow Super Giants, says he is pleased with the win, and they, as a team, are just taking one match at a time and believing in the process. Mentions that the idea was to bowl a lot of yorkers and into the wicket slower ones and the way the bowlers came back was special. Further says that he is feeling better with every game and spending more time in the middle just helps a player. Lauds Nicholas Pooran and says he is happy to have somebody of that class in his team and he reads the game well and doesn't just keep slogging.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
The holder of the Orange Cap, Nicholas Pooran, is in for a chat. Mentions that he is not too concerned about the Orange Cap, as it is all about the team’s wins. He describes that it was a beautiful wicket to bat on. He knows they have solid batting depth but stresses the importance of stitching partnerships. Emphasizes the need to understand what is required at different stages of the innings and how to approach the task at hand while also targeting specific bowlers.
Shubman Gill, the skipper of Gujarat Titans, says the wicket wasn't the easiest one to bat on from ball one and losing quick wickets didn't help their cause. Further adds that while batting first, the balls were sticking a bit, but the strike rotation was a concern that they will have to fix going ahead. Mentions the conversation was always to look for wickets, but after the halfway mark in the second innings, there was some dew, which eased the pitch. Concludes that to have taken the game so deep is a good positive that shows their fighting spirit.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan dominated the proceedings for the Titans with a 120-run opening stand. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for GT while the duo was out in the middle, but once the partnership was broken, the tide turned dramatically. LSG stormed back into the contest, conceding just 60 runs and picking up 6 wickets in the final 8 overs. Ravi Bishnoi took a bit of tap in the first couple of overs but came back well to finish with a couple of wickets.
The way Pooran was batting, it looked like the Super Giants would complete the chase with an over or two to spare, but the Titans managed to take the game down to the final over after Pooran fell. GT could never really build any significant pressure with the ball, and not much went their way after they let it slip with the bat. However, they will take heart from the fact that they fought till the end and made the contest closer than it seemed at one point.
With Mitchell Marsh unavailable for the game due to personal reasons, Rishabh Pant stepped up to open the innings alongside Aiden Markram. While Pant found it tough to get going, Markram wasted no time in finding his rhythm, dispatching a few early boundaries to set the tone. He was given a life on 28, and made Gujarat Titans pay dearly for that miss. Though Markram eventually fell, Nicholas Pooran took charge and kept the chase on track with a commanding performance.
Third win on the trot for the Lucknow Super Giants! This one will feel particularly satisfying, given the character they showed to turn things around after GT were cruising at 120/0. The Gujarat Titans’ four-match winning streak comes to an end, and they will be kicking themselves for not making the most of the strong platform laid by their openers. Missed opportunities in the field didn’t help either for Shubman Gill and his men.
19.3SIX! That's some shot to finish the game! Lucknow Super Giants win by 6 wickets. Sai Kishore comes from around the wicket and goes full, on middle and leg, Ayush Badoni slog sweeps it over mid-wicket for a big six to get the job done.
19.2FOUR! Scores level! Sai Kishore keeps it short again and on middle and leg, Ayush Badoni slips on his knee and sweeps it firmly to the right of deep mid-wicket. Mohammed Siraj dives but fails to cut it off.
19.1Short and on middle and leg, Abdul Samad calmly turns it to square leg for a single. 5 needed off 5 balls.
Sai Kishore (1-0-24-0) will bowl the final over with LSG needing 6 runs.

18.5A valuable dot! Bowls it full and outside off, Abdul Samad looks to punch it through the off side but gets beaten.
Abdul Samad is in next.
18.4OUT! TIMBER! Is there a late twist in this game? You never know! Gujarat Titans will have to believe, though. Washington Sundar angles it in, coming on with the arm, full and on off. The ball skids through and keeps a bit low too. David Miller rocks back and looks to pull but the ball scoots under his bat to uproot the off stump.

16.4Bye! Floated up, around off, David Miller reaches out in front and looks to force the drive away but misses. Jos Buttler fails to gather it cleanly and concedes a bye.
16.3Oh dear, what could have been a runout is now a lifeline for David Miller! Jos Buttler has a day to forget! Full and on middle and leg, Miller swipes it to deep square leg and sets off for the second. Mohammed Siraj collects the ball well and fires it to the keeper and Jos Buttler moves in front of the stumps and looks to flick it back off his right hand as Miller dives in desperation to make it back home. The side on replays show the wickets were broken and Miller was short of his crease, but the ball popped out of Buttler's hand at the time the wickets were broken off the gloves.
Is that out? Or has the dive saved David Miller here? GT look pretty confident. Oh, dear, the replays show that Miller is short of his crease despite the dive, but the ball fell out of Jos Buttler's gloves as he tried to reach out and break the stumps. NOT OUT!

Pooran falls for 61 (34).
15.1DROPPED! Washington Sundar puts down a simple one and that just sums up his day in the game. Tossed up, on off and middle, Ayush Badoni slogs it to deep square leg. Washington Sundar moves to his left but charges in a bit, and the ball goes over. He tries to take it with both hands over his head, but it just doesn't stick. A single taken.

13.4From around the wicket to the left-hander, on a back of a length, pulled through mid-wicket for a single by Nicholas.
13.3Back of a length on the off stump, hurrying the batter on the pull. Badoni gets it off the splice of the bat, as the ball goes towards long on. Single taken.
13.2Full, on off, firmly driven to mid off by Badoni.
13.1Full on off, Pooran eases this one towards deep extra cover for a single.
Strategic Break! Lucknow Super Giants are cruising towards victory, and at this rate, they might even wrap things up early, giving their net run rate a healthy boost. Gujarat Titans have looked off-colour with the ball and now need something truly special to turn this around from the brink of defeat.
12.6On a length, on off, Ayush lofts it to the right of deep cover. Sai Kishore sprints and slides to his right to cut it off. Two runs taken.
12.5Yorker, that tails back into the left hander, on middle-leg, Pooran digs it out as he pushes it into the off side and sets off for a quick single.
12.4FOUR! FIFTY FOR POORAN! 4th half-century for Nicky P and he is enjoying a dream season. Pace taken off, around off, on a back of a length, Pooran waits for the ball to arrive and glides it aerially but well wide of short third to his left for a boundary.

11.5Full on middle, Badoni flicks it along the ground, straight to short mid-wicket. Dot ball.
11.4Back to pace on and on a shortish length, on middle, Pooran is hurried on the pull but manages to get this one away to deep backward square leg. They cross.
11.3Pace off delivery moving away, Pooran got deceived by it as he looked to flick it. The ball hit his back leg and went to the keeper. Well bowled!
11.2On off, on a back of a length, steered down to deep third for a single by Ayush to get off the mark.
Ayush Badoni, the impact substitute replacing Digvesh Singh, comes in at number 4 for LSG.
11.1OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Prasidh Krishna strikes on his return to the attack! This will give some hope to the Titans. A fine innings from Markram comes to an end. Bowled with an upright seam, on a good length, on off, Aiden swings to go back over the bowler's head. Gets it off the toe end of the bat and skies it straight up towards long off where Shubman Gill runs to his right and takes a neat catch in front of the fence. Markram goes for 58 (31). LSG are now 123/2, needing 58 runs off 53 balls.

9.4FIFTY FOR MARKRAM! He has consistently delivered at the top for Lucknow Super Giants. Gets to his second half-century of the season with a single. Full and on middle, he tucks it to square leg and picks up the run.
9.3FOUR! LOVELY! Slower tossed up delivery on off, Markram takes a step forward and hits it past the bowler, down the ground for four.
9.2Sai Kishore drops it short again, on off, Nicholas Pooran pulls it to the left of long on. Shahrukh Khan moves across and puts his body in line to keep it down to just a single.
9.1SIX! BANG! WELCOME, SAI KISHORE! Quicker and flatter delivery just outside off, Pooran pulls it with serious power, as the ball goes deep into the stands over deep mid-wicket.

7.6Full and on middle, Nicholas Pooran tucks it to deep mid-wicket and picks up two more runs.
Halt! The physio is out to tend to Rashid Khan. Rashid is getting his left hand strapped. He is ready to resume.
7.5Full on off, quicker in speed, Pooran drives it in the air towards Rashid Khan, who jumps and gets a hand to it. The ball goes towards the right of the long off fielder, who cuts it off near the boundary. Two runs taken. Harsh to call it a drop catch!
7.4Tossed up, on off, Nicholas Pooran chops it down the deck.

Nicholas Pooran is in next.
6.2OUT! CAUGHT! One shot too many from Rishabh Pant and his stay as an opener comes to an end. Lucknow Super Giants lose their skipper for 21 (18) and are 65/1. Prasidh Krishna bangs the deck, on a back of a length, over middle and Rishabh Pant gives the bowler a charge down the track. The ball skids through quickly and Pant throws his hands at it wildly and looks to pull. The ball takes a top edge and goes straight into the bread basket of Washington Sundar at deep third.
6.1FOUR! PULLED AWAY! Back of length, pace off delivery, just outside off, Pant pulls it nonchalantly along the ground to deep mid-wicket for four.
STRATEGIC BREAK! It’s been all Lucknow Super Giants so far, and this is just the kind of start the home side would have hoped for. Gujarat Titans have looked off-colour with the ball, and their woes have been compounded by a couple of dropped chances in the field. Spotting the early momentum shift, Shubman Gill has opted for the timeout at the first opportunity, hoping to regroup and slow things down. It did get trickier to bat as the ball got older during GT’s innings, so it will be interesting to see how LSG handle the middle phase from here.
5.6Pushed through, on a nagging length, on off, Pant punches it to cover. Lucknow Super Giants end the Powerplay at 61/0.

4.6Fuller and pace taken off, outside off, Markram looks to go for the drive but loses his shape in the process. Miscues it towards mid-wicket.
4.5On a back of a length, on middle, Pant pulls it through backward square leg for a single.
4.4DROPPED AGAIN! A really tough chance, though! Short and wide on off, Aiden Markram stands tall and slams it towards cover. It goes towards Sai Sudharsan, who sticks out his left hand as he dives to his left. The ball does not stick and pops out. A single taken.
4.3DROPPED, FOUR! Arshad Khan should have done better there! Dug in short by Prasidh, over middle, Markram looks to use the pace and glide it over short third. Gets it high on the bat and it lobs tamely over short third. Arshad is late to go back and just leaps to take the catch over his head with his right hand. The ball clips him on the fingertips and goes behind into the fence.
4.2Good response from Prasidh! More effort on this one from Krishna. A sharp and quick bumper, around leg, Markram backs away and tries to ramp it over the keeper but misses.
4.1SIX! Prasidh Krishna is greeted with a big hit! Krishna goes into the wicket straight away, on middle and leg, Aiden takes a couple of steps down the track and nails the pull over deep mid-wicket for a six.

3.2Into the wicket, over middle, Markram pulls it without much timing to mid-wicket.
3.1On a back of a length, on off, Markram pushes it to cover.
2.6Was that a chance? Mohammed Siraj's reactions suggest so. Full, on the pads, Pant looks to tickle it away but this seems to go only off the pads. Jos Buttler dives to his right but fails to cling on. And guess what? The UltraEdge shows that the ball grazed the inside edge on the way to the keeper. A chance missed by Buttler!
2.5FOUR! Seemed to have gone off the pads but given as runs! On a short of a length, on off, Pant walks across his stumps to lap it over short fine leg and gets himself into a tangle before tumbling over. The ball goes off the thigh pad and clears the leaping Jos Buttler for another boundary.
2.5FIVE WIDES! 16 runs off the over already! Banged in short, around middle and leg, but this just keeps climbing. Sails over the batter's head and evades the leaping Jos Buttler for a boundary.

1.6Goes full, around off, Rishabh mistimes the drive to mid on. A tidy first over from Arshad.
1.5On the off stump, on a hard length, Pant waits back and steers it straight to short third.
A slight hold in play. Seems like Rishabh Pant is in some discomfort on his left leg, and the physio is out for a check. After some medical treatment, he now looks good to continue.
1.4This skids through, on the pads, Pant is caught in his crease as he tries to work it away on the leg side. Gets beaten for pace and wears it on the front pad.
1.3On off, on a length, Pant tentatively pushes it back towards the bowler.
1.2Hurls it full, on off, Markram whips it to the right of mid on for a quick single. There is a direct hit at the batting end but Pant is well in.
1.1Angling into the left-hander from over the wicket, on the pads, on a good length, Pant turns it wide of square leg for a single.
It will be Arshad Khan to share the new ball from the other end.
0.6FOUR! Lovely shot! On a good length, on off, Aiden gets his hands through and drives it on the up through covers for a boundary.
0.5At 139.1 kph, on a good length, on middle, Aiden Markram pats it along the ground to mid off.
0.4A hint of away shape, on off, on a length, Markram eases it to cover.

0.2Beaten! On the fuller side, pushed across from over the wicket, Pant goes for the drive away from his body and gets beaten on the outside edge.
0.1Aiden Markram and the Lucknow Super Giants are off the mark! Slanting into the pads, on a back of a length, Aiden tucks it through square leg for a single to open his account.
