The International Cricket Council on November 11 announced the schedule for the World Cup Semi-final.
After the last league game between India and Netherlands on November 12, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia will play the semi-final matches of the ICC World Cup 2023.
Host India will top the group stage standings regardless of the result of their last match against the Netherlands on November 12. Rohit Sharma's squad will play New Zealand in a knockout semi-final on Wednesday, November 15.
In the league round, New Zealand, who came in fourth on the points standings, had five victories and four defeats. On October 22, they lost to India in the league round by four wickets, following a great run of bowling from Shami, who claimed five wickets.
The game is scheduled to start at 2 pm IST at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, where India defeated Sri Lanka by a dominant 302 runs earlier in the tournament.
The next day is the second semi-final, where Australia and South Africa will compete for a spot in the final on Thursday, November 16 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Australia lost their opening two games against South Africa and India, but bounced back to win seven straight matches. On the other hand, South Africa lost two games—one against the Netherlands and the other against India.
The victor of that match will advance to play either India or New Zealand in the final, which is scheduled to begin at 2 pm IST.
On Sunday, November 19, the World Cup final will take place at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Over 100,000 spectators are anticipated to witness the final match of the 13th edition of the tournament.
