IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company shares rallied nearly 8 percent in early trade Monday after the company has emerged as the lowest bidder for two rural electrification works in Kolkata.
The project also included additional two integrated power development works of West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company, Kolkata.
The company said, "Rural electrification works under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana included package No 2 for 24 Paraganas North Bidhannagar & 24 Paraganas South contract value is Rs 179.7 crore and package No 7 for Paschim Medinipur contract value is Rs 176.3 crore."
For urban areas under integrated power development works, IL&FS has bagged package No 6 for Purba Medinipur with contract value of Rs 162.2 crore and package No 10 for 24 Parganas South with contract value Rs 159.6 crore.
Total value of these four contracts is Rs 677.8 crore and completion schedule of works is 24 months.
IL&FS Engineering Services said it was already working in 24 Paraganas South and North for rural electrification works for WBSEDCL worth around Rs 657 crore, and had electrified more than 2500 villages in these areas.
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana–Rural Electrification contracts are being funded by Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), and integrated power development works contracts are being funded by Power Financial Corporation (PFC).
