Nazara Publishing, a unit of diversified gaming and sports media company Nazara Technologies, has launched FAU-G: Domination, about seven months after it kickstarted pre-registrations for the made-in-India multiplayer shooter game.
FAU-G: Domination (Fearless and United Guards: Domination) is the latest game in the FAU-G series from nCore Games, a mobile games and interactive entertainment firm of gaming veteran Vishal Gondal.
The title, currently available on Android, was launched at the World Audio Video Entertainment Summit 2025 (WAVES 2025) in the presence of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who serves as a mentor to nCore Group and Dot9 Games, a Mumbai-based gaming studio backed by nCore. The iOS version is expected to be available on the App Store soon.
Nazara struck a partnership with nCore in June 2024 to publish FAU-G: Domination, a high-profile addition to the portfolio of its publishing unit, which started in October 2023. The title has been developed by Dot9 Games.
Dot9 Games was set up in 2021 by Deepak Ail, Srinivasan Veeraraghavan, Kaiwan Yezdani, and Prasad Ramdas, all of whom worked with Gondal in his earlier venture Indiagames, which was acquired by Disney in 2011.
“The talent, creativity, and ambition among Indian developers today are poised to make a mark not just in India, but on the global stage. As India’s only publicly listed gaming company, Nazara Technologies is deeply committed to supporting Indian developers - partnering with them through every stage of their journey, from development to launch and beyond" Nazara founder Nitish Mittersain said in a statement.

FAU-G: Domination is banking on its India-first focus, which emphasises local culture and themes, to attract more consumers to its game amid intense competition in the shooting genre.
The military multiplayer first-person shooter title features several iconic Indian environments, ranging from Delhi’s metros and Jodhpur’s desert outposts to Chennai’s crammed ports, and Mumbai’s bustling streets.
Players will step into the boots of elite FAU-G operatives and will be able to use over 40 weapons including pistols, rifles, Submachine gun, snipers, heavy weapons, and knives. It will have five game models such as 5v5 Team Deathmatch, 1v1, Kiss of Death, and Weapon Domination.
“Indian gamers have long wanted content that speaks their language—not just literally, but emotionally and culturally. FAU-G: Domination is born out of that desire. It's proudly Indian in spirit, made for a generation ready to game with purpose" Ail said in a statement.
The original FAU-G game was an action game featuring hand-to-hand single-player combat. It was developed by Bengaluru-based nCore Games, a different studio under the nCore banner, which subsequently shutdown.
In an earlier interview to Moneycontrol, Gondal told that the new game has been built entirely from the ground-up with a different engine, game tech, and story.
"This is our salute to the brave men and women who protect our nation, and a proud offering from India’s game development ecosystem to the world" Gondal said.
The launch comes at a time when India’s gaming sector is showing signs of maturity in user behaviour and habits. The fledgling sector is also reaching an inflection point in terms of scale and willingness to pay.
This is spurring local studios to create bigger, better and more complex games that can eventually compete with their international counterparts and position India as a global gaming hub.
India is the fastest-growing games market in Asia, both in terms of revenue and gamers, according to Niko Partners, a market research and consulting firm that covers video games, e-sports and streaming in the continent.
The combined mobile, PC and console gaming revenue is projected to reach $943 million in 2024, up 13.6 percent from the previous year.
The market is expected to surpass $1 billion in revenue in 2025 and reach $1.4 billion in 2028, growing at a 5-year compound annual growth rate of 11.1 percent, it said. These figures do not include revenues from real-money games or exports.
nCore intends to make money from the game by allowing gamers to buy battle passes and cosmetic items to customise their characters, gear and profile among others through in-app purchases.
The title will also feature specific cosmetic items such as valor insignias and regiment badges, with all the proceeds from the sale going towards the Bharat Ke Veer Trust, conceptualised by Akshay Kumar and implemented by the home ministry, to support the families of armed forces martyrs. Nazara has also donated Rs 25 lakh to the Trust as part of this initiative.
