Difference between open ended and closed ended funds?

Chitra Iyer, COO & Financial Coach at MFA discussed about what is the difference between open ended and closed ended funds?

When you talk about open ended mutual funds these are ones which you can buy at any time because they are available on tap/click and you can buy and sell them at all points of time.

Whereas closed ended mutual funds are not available for sale. They can be bought by an investor on the markets, they are listed on the secondary markets and available for sale.
