Tata Mutual Fund has slashed its exposure in utilities, oil & gas and consumer non-durables, while increased its weightage in automotive, metals & mining and cement & construction sector.
Power Grid Corporation, NTPC and Bharat Forge were the top sells, while Sterlite Industries (India), NMDC and Navneet Publications were the top buys.
The study of portfolio managed by Tata Mutual Fund for the month of December 2012 shows that in the utilities space, it sold Power Grid and NTPC, while it bought Tata Power.
In the oil & gas sector, the fund sold Cairn India, Oil India and ONGC. However, it purchased Reliance Industries in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).
The fund sold Hindustan Unilever, Colgate Palmolive (India) and Dabur India, but it bought Godrej Consumer Products and Procter and Gamble Hygiene.
It purchased Balkrishna Industries and introduced Motherson Sumi Systems in the automotive pack. However, it sold Mahindra and Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India and Hero Motocorp.
In the metals & mining segment, it bought Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries (India) and introduced NMDC. However, it sold Hindalco Industries and Coal India from the same segment. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?).
The fund bought Shree Cements and Rain Commodities in the cement & construction. However, it exited Vesuvius India from the same space.
