Gas distribution company Adani Total Gas and Jio-bp, which is the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility, have partnered to offer high-quality fuels for consumers, a statement by ATGL said on June 25.

Under the partnership, select ATGL fuel outlets will offer Jio-bp’s high-performance petrol and diesel, while select Jio-bp outlets will integrate ATGL’s CNG dispensing units, within ATGL’s authorized area of operation, thus enhancing the supply of high-quality fuels to transport consumers. The agreement covers both existing and future outlets of both partners.

ATGL is one of India's major city gas distribution (CGD) player, serving natural gas to households, industries, commercial buyers and automobiles, under a joint venture between Adani and TotalEnergies. ATGL also offers Compressed Biogas (CBG), EV charging and LNG for transport.

Jio-bp is a joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp, with presence in fuel retailing, low-carbon options and convenience stores. "...this partnership allows us to leverage each other’s strengths to further enhance the value we provide to India," said Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp.

“This partnership will enable us to leverage each other’s infrastructure, thus enhancing customer experience and offerings,” said Suresh P Manglani, Executive Director and CEO, Adani Total Gas.

This is the second major partnership between the two groups, after Reliance Industries bought a 26 percent stake in Mahan Energen (MEL), a unit of Adani Power in March this year.

ATGL runs a network of nearly 650 CNG stations while Jio-bp has a network of around 2,000 outlets.

India’s fuel retail outlets are overwhelmingly dominated by state-run OMCs - HPCL, BPCL and IOC - which account for nearly 90% of the 97,000 the outlets.
